Swedish geneticist Svante Pääbo won the Nobel Prize in Medical Sciences for the discovery of the genome of primitive humans and the genome of human evolution. He was born on April 20, 1955 in Stockholm, Sweden. Before this, his father, biochemist Sune Bergström, also won the Nobel Prize. His name was announced as this year's winner at Sweden's Karolinska Institute of Medicine at around 3:30 PM Bangladesh time on Monday (October 3). Through this, the name of the first Nobel laureate of the year was announced. Last year i.e. in 2021, American scientists David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian jointly won the Nobel Prize in Medical Sciences for the discovery of temperature and touch receptors.
